Cum nemo sit, qui nesciat, quantis locorum intervallis a se invicem dissiti sint Acarnanes in Graecia, prope Epirum, Cares in Asia minore, e regione Rhodi ins. et Bactriani in intima Asia ultra mare Caspium. Sed errori ansam dedêre Ioseph. et Hier. quorum ille Bactrianos, hic Cares et Acarnanes deducit ex Gethere. Fallor, aut Syrus auctor aliquis scripserat, Gether habitasse Begethera, i. e. in Gethera urbe, vel regione, ubicumque tandem fuerit. Pro quo Ioseph. legit Bagtra, vel Bactrae, quasi de Bactris ageretur. Pari errore Bispharad, i. e. in Sepharad, Abd. v. 20. Hier. Bosphorum reddit ac si B. praepositum pars esset vocabuli Boch.
